Something is bugging Nevada school kids -- the
lack of a state insect. Now, a class of fourth-graders from Las
Vegas is nominating the Vivid Dancer damselfly to be the official
state bug. The kids from Beauty Elementary School write in their
essay that the damselfly contributes to the economy and quality of
life of Nevada. The kids note their favorite bug eats mosquitoes
and other pests. It's a pretty blue bug with transparent silvery
wings. Now, it's up to the state Legislature to make the final
decision on an official bug.

Missouri River recognized as the official state waterway.
