Why are there interstate highways in Hawaii ?
ok,
I admit defeat! I gave in this evening and lit the pilot light on the furnace. The forecast of lows in the twenties did it. It's a ritual I go through every year. I spend each day waiting for someone to say...."it got cold enough last night, my furnace kicked on". With a sense of pride I proclaim "Not mine"! I haven't evan lit the pilot yet. I'm not turning it on til I have too!
In my younger days, This was out of necessity! It was either heat the cold air that was blowing in through the broken windows of my humble apartment above the garage or spend the "saved" money on something like FOOD!
I'm now 44 years old....I have convinced myself that I can afford to light the pilot light on the furnace, AND enjoy an occassional fried bologna sandwich!
It's time to put aside this "right of passage" and admit out loud.....I am a man who gets cold and hungry. Sometimes both at the same time!
now as I sit here all warm and cozy,
and the temperatures dropping outside,
I realize I have no bread or bologna
UGH!
talk to ya in the morning!
